- Understand the culture of autism
- Understand the importance of individualized support
- Understand the concept of visually based support
- Understand the major components of Structured Teaching: physical organization and visual boundaries, schedules, work systems, routines, and task organization
Study Questions
- Why are routines important for individuals with ASD?
- Consider a routine that a student would encounter in a school setting. Write a task analysis for the steps required to perform the routine, including independent initiation and task completion.
